THREE voluntary organisations from the Farnworth and Little Hulton areas could benefit following a visit from the charity Business in the Community.
The charity, headed by its president Prince Charles, identifies ways in which business can contribute to social and economic regeneration in the community.
And yesterday it was the turn of the New Bury Community Centre in Farnworth and the Women's Centre and Amblecote Residents' Association in Little Hulton to explain their problems to some of the UK's top business leaders.
The team of business leaders were led by Charles Allen, the chief executive of Granada. The groups are not allowed to ask for money. Instead they explain their problems and present the business leaders with a 'wish list' detailing their immediate needs.
During the visit to New Bury the business bosses spoke to mothers and children attached to the play group and youngsters from the voluntary youth club.
Bernadette Tither, centre co-ordinator at New Bury Community Centre, said: "We are pushing for some sort of outdoor play area for the pre-school children."
The centre recently benefitted from lottery money to create an all-weather sports area on the car park, and youngsters told visitors they needed equipment to put on it. The visit is one of ten by business leaders this spring.
