BRYAN Griffiths is relying on years of experience in non-league football to help him revive Chorley's fortunes.
The newly-appointed Magpies boss watched his side throw away a lead and succumb to Unibond hot shots Boston United on Saturday.
But former Witton, Southport and Morecambe man Griffiths is determined to keep hold of Chorley's talented squad and lead the way back to the success of the late 80s.
Speaking after his appointment, which swiftly followed the departure of Steve Doyle from Victory Park, Griffiths said: "I want this club to go places. Obviously it won't be easy but Chorley have always been a difficult team to beat. I want to build on that and work towards making an impact."
Griffiths, a sales rep for sportswear and equipment firm Head, is keen to hang on to young star Lee Trundle, who has been attracting rave reviews under the gaze of league scouts.
"Selling players is in the past," stated Griffiths. "I've got a budget and I intend to keep all my players."
And as far as Chorley chairman Jack Kirkland is concerned, Griffiths is the right man for the job. Mr Kirkland said: "Bryan has great experience as a non league manager so supporters should be pleased by his appointment. I think he'll do well here."
