SIR: My brother, Christopher, is 37 years of age and a lifelong supporter of Bolton Wanderers, even though we moved away from Bolton to live in Stoke on Trent when he was still at school.
He has been a season ticket holder for many years until July last year when he was taken into hospital with a serious knee problem. He remained in hospital until December when he was allowed home. He is now only able to walk with the aid of two sticks but since his homecoming has gone to all Bolton's home games by train and bus, or with the help of friends and family giving him lifts.
Chris is desperate to see Bolton's final game at Burnden Park and has made many inquiries at the ground in person and by phone about getting a ticket for this match. Two weeks ago he sent a letter and a cheque asking for a ticket for the game as he was unable to stand and queue for the ticket. Today he phoned again to see if he had been successful, only to be told that all tickets for seats had been sold. As you can imagine, he is devastated.
I am writing without my brother's knowledge in the hope that someone may be able to obtain a ticket which I could purchase for him to enable him to attend.
He really has had a dreadful year, with operations and physiotherapy and to be able to attend this final game at his beloved Burnden Park would be wonderful.
