GUDNI Bergsson and John McGinlay gave Wanderers a double fitness boost when they put their names back in the frame for the end of season celebrations.
Skipper Bergsson, sidelined for five games with a calf injury, and top scorer McGinlay, who missed Saturday's 4-0 victory over Oxford with a thigh strain, resumed normal training and hope to get the all-clear for recalls.
Both players could be in contention for Saturday's trip to relegation-blighted Oldham but, if they aren't risked at Boundary Park, they look certain to be in the running for the Charlton game next week when Wanderers will bid an emotinal farewell to Burnden Park.
Burnden coach Phil Brown explained: "Hopefully they will come through the training sessions okay and be ready to join the squad for the Oldham game.
"If they don't figure this weekend, they'll certainly be in the reckoning for the Charlton game."
Wanderers go to Oldham determined to stay on course to add the unique 100 points and 100 goals record to their runaway Championship success.
The Reserves say their farewells to Burnden tonight when they play the final home game of the Pontins League season against Liverpool (ko 7pm).
Robert Trees, a 19-year-old defender released by Manchester United, has been given clearance to play for Wanderers on a trial basis.
He joins experienced hands Gavin Ward, Michael Johansen, David Lee, Simon Coleman and Scott Taylor in the 2nd Xl.
