THE UniBond Division One title race is continuing at a breathtaking pace.
Radcliffe Boro went into March a seemingly insurmountable 22 points clear of Leigh RMI and with Lincoln United and Farsley Celtic looking a bigger threat to Stainton Park title and promotion hopes.
Not so, as a slight lapse in concentration from the Boro and an incredible run from RMI, saw the Leigh outfit grab pole position last weekend.
That was reversed by Radcliffe's 2-0 home win over Ashton United on Tuesday night and the lead at the top is now one point with both contenders having played the same number of games.
Only Jason Ashley is an injury worry for tomorrow's trip to fourth from bottom, and still heavily involved in a desperate relegation battle, Congleton Town.
Atherton LR can do the title aspirations of both Radcliffe and Leigh a power of good, and also spark a last gasp effort to climb off the bottom of the Division One table, if they can upset the form book for tomorrow's visit of Lincoln United to Crilly Park.
In the North West Counties League, Atherton Colls travel to ninth in the Division One table Mossley, hoping to follow up Wednesday night's 2-1 home win over Maine Road when Paul Cameron and Dave Roach were on the score sheet. Daisy Hill are without a fixture.
