BOSSES at trial station, Bolton Radio, are seeking actors to perform a specially commissioned play.
The station, which will go back on air for four weeks from May 24, commissioned Bolton-based writer Richard Marlowe to create a play for radio.
The work, "The Tale of Jimmy Witting", will be broadcast in 30 minute segments during the four week run.
Eleven actors and eight actresses are needed for the play, which tells the tale of a young Bolton man who has literacy problems.
Radio Bolton's Chris Yates said it was an entertaining work. "This is the first time to our knowledge that a community station like ours has commissioned a play," he said. "It's a lovely piece that is something new and we hope listeners will enjoy it."
The auditions will be held at Radio Bolton's studios in Tennyson Street, Halliwell, tomorrow from 2pm to 10pm.
Some members of local amateur dramatic groups have already shown interest in the project.
If you would like more information, phone Bolton 363304 between 12 noon and 4pm.
