SIR: I noticed (BEN, April 11), a planning application for the land off Heaviley Grove, Horwich to build houses.
That area is a small rural part of Horwich at the foot of Rivington. I am appalled that Bolton Council, the prospective purchaser would want to spoil this small community, and can only assume yet again (I refer to the MBC wanting to put a tip on Red Moss for the money) that they are seeing pound signs at the residents' expense. The residents have made the waste land opposite their homes, gardens to be very proud of and that's the way they should be left.
