SIR: I disagree with Michele Bowker's comments on the Erasure concert at Nynex on Friday, April 11.
Erasure were absolutely brilliant. They sang as many old favourites as they did new songs and the new ones were so good that I went straight out on Saturday morning and bought the new tape.
Andy and Vince delivered all I had hoped for and more and the show was quite definitely inspirational - how could anyone have possibly been bored. As far as time not having been kind to them well time isn't kind to may of us is it?
The audience loved them and enthused throughout, not just now and again as suggested. Everyone round about where I was sitting was either on the edge of their seats soaking up the atmosphere during slower songs or up dancing and having a great time during faster ones. Everyone was buzzing as they left having been totally entertained by the professionals.
As far as the audience being 30 something, I saw children as young as 10 and older people who were probably 50 plus. I am 42 and I went with my 20-year-old son who introduced me to Erasure's music about five years ago. The whole evening was fantastic and I can't wait for Erasure to come back to Nynex.
