The time's arrived, nothing's more certain,

A demolition team strive and toil

To give Bolton Royal the final curtain.

Farewell, old friend, that once we knew

So familiar, that sentiment wins, reason loses.

Busy departments now hushed,

Ring with hollow emptiness,

In eerie silence, doomed -

Awaiting the final chop.

Although the building is rated ancient,

BRI leaves a legacy of grateful patients.

To Bolton Royal, we wave goodbye,

With maybe a tear and a longing sigh.

In these times of change, we have to move on,

Step into the future with the Royal Bolton. Mrs Freda Rothwell
