BURY were today preparing to get the victory which could clinch promotion tomorrow night.
Stan Ternent's runaway leaders will go up to the First Division if they win at promotion rivals Luton Town and Brentford fail to win at Blackpool or Stockport lose at home to York City.
But the Shakers boss today urged his players to maintain their trademark cool, professional approach, saying: "There will be no champagne on ice until it is mathematically impossible to finished out of the top two."
Saturday's nail-biting 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Peterborough, combined with defeats for main rivals Brentford and Stockport, put Bury on the verge of a remarkable second successive promotion.
"Peterborough are scrapping for their lives and played very well," added Ternent.
"Players can become anxious, there was pressure on the players on Saturday and they coped terrifically well. They were magnificent but we now have three tough games at Luton and Watford and at home to Millwall."
They will complete the season without defender Andy Woodward, ruled out with the hamstring injury which kept him out on Saturday.
