SIR: I refer to the letter headed 'Remember, it's your money' (Your views, April 18). My sister was also made to feel like a criminal. She only wanted money from her own account. One bank reduced her to tears. They finally asked her 'What was your mother's maiden name'.
As my sister is 76 years old she had to think back a bit, and let's face it at that age your memory is not as sharp as it was. She did get her money in the end, but whatever her mother had to do with it leaves me speechless. I might add, that our mother never had a bank account in her life. She couldn't afford one.
