SIR: I reply to many of your readers regarding Ballroom Dancing which I started to learn in 1948 from two of the best teachers of dancing this town as ever known, firstly with Bill Hewitt then Bert O'Neil. There were also George Taylor, Bert Mayoh and Bert Dodd, plus many more very good teachers.

I, like Mrs C Cannon, with some of my friends used to attend the British Legion, Eccles back in the 60s and 70s, dancing to Harold on the organ plus a drummer, sometimes George Riley, and I can honestly say the tempo was second to none. I wish those days could be brought back and replace this sequence mania which has taken over. At least open up a dance hall to cater for ballroom dancers who used to enjoy this type of dancing.
