SIR:I refer to the letter (Your views April14) about 'Waste of Public Cash by Tories'.
Mr Ford, I do agree that there is a lot of money being wasted on lots of things run by Councils and the National Health Service.
But surely the money was only allocated by the Government, not spent by them, surely this was Labour that was doing the spending not the Tories.
Don't you think it's the people who are running the councils and the NHS 'that are at fault' not the Members of Parliament, and don't forget we have a Labour Council in this area. And if I remember rightly it was a London Labour Council (Lambeth) that could not manage to get the poll tax right (not the Tories). I have listened to both sides and Labour keep sayingwe will do this and we will do that, but where will the money come from. Have they got a bottomless pit full of money?
The only thing I have to say about the Tories, is they don't keep changing their mind, even when they are coming up for election, and they don't go digging into the private lives of individuals like the Labour Party do. I believe that any MP's private life should be his own. What he does when he is not working has nothing to do with anyone else. Only the way he does his job should matter. That is why he was elected in the first place.
