A HOLE in one will win someone a new car at a charity golf event to be held at Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club next month.

A big turnout is expected at the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association - Forces Help tournament on Tuesday May 13.

Top prize will be a new car which the SSAFA has been able to offer in conjunction with the National Hole-In-One Association.

Other prizes up for grabs will include spirits, radio cassettes, electrical goods and a conservatory furniture voucher.

SSAFA organiser Jack Chadwick, of Tyldesley Old Road in Atherton said: "The competition will for a crystal bowl which will be held for 12 months along with a replica to keep.

"SSAFA Forces Help needs cash to cope with the increasing number of past and present servicemen and women.

"If you prefer not to play any help would be very much appreciated."

Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, nearest putt to the pin and the best dressed ladies' team.

Teams of four are invited to take part in the 18-hole tournament. Entry costs £100 per team. The golf is free, all entry fees will be donated to the charity.
