A MYSTERIOUS object spotted in the sky over Bolton has now been seen in the Leigh area.
As reported in the BEN, several people reported strange goings on over Rivington on Easter Sunday.
Accounts described a disc-shaped object with flashing red, white and green lights.
Leigh man Steve Balon, a UFO enthusiast for 30 years, received a report from a friend claiming to have observed a similar object over Pennington Flash last week.
Steve's friend spotted a black object the shape of a satellite dish last Friday.
He claimed that it blotted out the stars and had red, green, white and blue lights flashing on the rim, which was rotating, and on the underside.
Steve's friend spotted the mysterious object from his home in Lowton. It appeared low on the horizon over Pennington Flash at about 9.15pm and hovered for about 40 minutes before disappearing.
Steve, 44, said: "There seems to be more activity in the local area and I have extensive files with details of UFO sightings.
"Whatever it was in the sky at Pennington Flash, it was not Venus or another planet.
"And it was certainly not a comet."
Steve has also been shown a video by a Little Lever man who claims to have seen a mystery object in the sky at about 1.30am on April 10.
He said: "The object is oval shaped and moves from left to right across the sky.
"It has red, green and white strobe lights on the rim which are flashing.
"The lights could be part of a larger object which would have been covered by the darkness.
"The object changes colour inside. It is gold at first but then shows red, white and green in a repeated sequence like a Chinese lamp.
"A high-pitched whining noise can be heard, sounding like an electric motor."
Steve would like to hear from anyone who saw the object in the sky on Easter Sunday. Contact him on (0831) 702394 or at 10 Woodlands Avenue, Pennington, Leigh.
