LEIGH RMI and Great Harwood produced an action replay of Saturday's corresponding fixture in a 1-1 draw at the Showground last night.
The hard-earned point was just enough to keep the Railwaymen's noses in front of Lincoln, who beat Worksop by a single goal.
Radcliffe stay top with 81 points with Leigh second on 78 and Lincoln third on 77. Radcliffe and Leigh have three to play while Lincoln have only two left.
"We totally dominated the game but when teams get 11 men back behind the ball they are very difficult to break down." said manager Steve Waywell.
"Our destiny is still in our own hands and we will go to Workington on Saturday full of confidence."
Leigh have now gone 11 unbeaten but they had to come from behind after the home side took the lead on the stroke of half time.
In a game of few chances Phil Brown outjumped the RMI defence to head in a corner. Chris Bermingham replaced Keith Evans at half time and it was from his left footed curling cross from the right on the hour that Mark Schofield headed home from close range.
Leigh have only taken six points from their last 12, but two more wins from their last three matches will be enough to ensure premiership football at Hilton Park next season. CLUB secretary Steven Hartle hailed ATHERTON LR's performance in last night's 1-1 draw at Workington.
"You had to feel proud of the players because if we were to go down it was going to be in style."
The long shot hope for Rovers had been to win their last three games and hope to avoid finishing in the Unibond Division One bottom three relegation places.
That now cannot be but there could yet be salvation should any of the championship clubs from the feeder leagues be deemed unacceptable.
Rovers went behind on 70 minutes to a strike from Ian Milburn but equalised two minutes from time when Neil Moss' shot was handled on the line and Mark Stewart slammed in the penalty.
