SIR: I feel I must write just once more about ballroom dancing, in particular to 'Dancing fan from Little Lever' April 17.
Yes we do know about Hughes Dance Centre, we go there ourselves, and yes we really enjoy the professional teaching by the lovely young lady in charge. But what we need is a ballroom with live music, warm atmosphere and a little sophistication to suit all ballroom dancers from the age of 35 years upwards.
I think you will agree that the under 35s prefer the night club scene, whereas the over 65s prefer the sequence scene (tea dances etc).
Perhaps a new image for the Saturday night dances at our own beautiful Albert Halls/Festival Hall is the answer.
Recently we introduced two friends of ours to Ballroom Dancing, and yes they come along with us to the Dance Centre, but like us they want somewhere to go dancing when they have learned. All dance centres would benefit because more people would want to learn!
