Horwich Town Council has set two deadlines for voluntary groups wishing to apply for grants.

The dates for this year are May 31 and October 31.

Groups must be located in Horwich and serve the people of the town. Grants are available for voluntary/community/ non-profit-making groups and not for commercial groups, public sector departments or individuals. Application forms available from the Town Clerk's office at the Public Hall, Lee Lane. The council is to continue with its policy adopted last year for the distribution of grants, which was to set two dates by which applications must be submitted for consideration.

Requests will be considered by the council's Finance and General Purposes Committee.
