EMOTIONAL farewells to Burnden Park have been captured in song by well known Bolton entertainer Howard Broadbent.
Howard's history packed lyrics are contained in two songs which have gone on general release this week.
The curtain comes down on the Burnden era with the Wanderers' last match there on Friday. And Howard's labour of love has been penned for nearly two years in anticipation of the momentous event.
Goodbye to Burnden, which was co-written with Lynne Lowe, covers lyrically all the major milestones in the famous stadium's history and refers to many of the great players who have graced the turf including Tommy Banks, Francis Lee and Nat Lofthouse.
Lynne said: "It's a potted history of the stadium put into song really. Howard has performed it at various gigs and it has gone down really well."
The tape, which also includes the track The Burnden Years, is on sale at Andy's Records priced £3.
Goodbye to Burnden will be played every half hour at the Burnden Park exhibition which opens at Bolton museum and art gallery on Friday.
