Wanderers have warned their Division One rivals that there will be no let-up in their runaway Championship success.
Held to a goalless draw at Oldham last weekend, the Burnden heroes are still aiming to end the season in a blaze of glory by finishing streets ahead of their nearest challengers.
They go into tomorrow's final home game against Charlton with a 17-point lead over second-placed Barnsley and still with an outside chance of completing a unique double of 100 points and 100 league goals.
But Colin Todd liked the look of the 20 point gap - the best Wanderers have enjoyed all season - and sees that as an additional target to keep his team on the boil for their two remaining games.
"I'd like to think we could open it up to 20 points again and win the title by an even bigger margin," the Burnden boss said in advance of the Farwell to Burnden which will be watched by a 22,000 sell-out crowd.
"Seventeen points is a superb lead but it would be an even greater achievement if we could confirm our superiority of the division by making it 20 or even more."
Wanderers will wait until shortly before kick off before deciding whether top scorer John McGinlay and skipper Gudni Bergsson are fit to return.
Bergsson, who has missed six games with a calf injury, had a 71 minute run-out in the reserves last night and showed no reaction to his lay-off while McGinlay, who has missed two games with a thigh strain, says he is prepared to go through the pain barrier to play in the historic final fixture at Burnden.
The Reserves' 3-2 defeat at Stoke left them in deep relegation trouble in the Pontins Premier League.
They currently lie fifth from bottom with just a one-point lead over Nottingham Forest, who occupy the second relegation place and have two games in hand.
