FORMER Salford prop Terry O'Connor is itching to return to the Willows tonight.
One of only six ever-presents since the inception of Super League 14 months ago, the consistent Wigan Warrior can't wait to get into the thick of the action.
"It is a big game for us. They have been doing well and I can't wait to go back. I have won one and lost one since moving to Wigan and that defeat in the Challenge Cup two years ago is something that is still in the players minds. We will give it out best shot."
But O'Connor is wary of the threat presented by his old club.
"We knew they were going to be a force to be reckoned with in Super League," he said. "They have made some good signings, they're gelling well and they are capable of turning anyone over."
Victory for the Warriors is vital if they are to retain any hope of the title. They have already lost three out of seven games and have set a target of going undefeated until June when they travel to Australia for the World Club Championships.
"Anything less than that will be a major blow," conceded coach Eric Hughes. "Last week's win over Oldham was a real confidence-booster but we realise it will be much tougher tonight. Salford always seem to pull out something extra against Wigan and it looks like we will be in for another nail-biter. If we win we will be back in the top four and that would be nice."
Wigan's new signing Lee Hansen will finally make his debut. He was unable to obtain a work permit but has qualifed as a British citizen as he has lived here for more than five years.
He replaces Martin Hall on the subs' bench - the only change from last week.
"Lee gives us the physical presence we have been lacking," added Hughes. "Holgate has being doing well at prop and to have Hansen and Cowie coming off the bench is what we have been aiming for."
WIGAN: Robinson, Johnson, Radlinski, Connolly, Cardiss, Smith, Murdock, O'Connor, Cassidy, Holgate, Haughton, Tallec, Farrell. Subs: Wright, Murray, Cowie, Hansen.
