RESIDENTS living on the Hilton estate at Horwich are hoping to launch a children's playscheme this summer.
It is planned to run the scheme in the school holidays in July and August for local families.
On Wednesday, a meeting is being held at Hilton Community Centre at 1pm for parents to gauge interest in the scheme.
The playscheme is the idea of a group of local people who attend the unemployed training sessions at the centre each week.
Janet Colley, Community Development Worker, who helps run the training programme, said to get the scheme up and running it was important to know what other people think about the idea.
"It is a very big estate with a lot of children living there and up to now there has not been a playscheme," said Mrs Colley.
Anyone who is keen to see the idea take off and would like to be involved is invited to go along to next week's meeting.
There is a creche available at the centre for young children but parents need to book.
For more information telephone Mrs Colley on 01942-813321.
