BOLTON Wanderers' fan Alice Taylor has special memories of one particular match at Burnden Park.
Mrs Taylor, a sprightly 80, has been watching the team for 50 years and remembers well the FA Cup tie between Bolton Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers, in 1958.
"There had been a memorable struggle between Billy Wright and Nat Lofthouse and Bolton were winning 2-1.
"Wolves bombarded the Bolton goal but Bolton managed to keep them out and won 2-1.
"As we were leaving the ground we saw some people carrying a banner which had the words "The Lord is With You" on it.
"A group of Wolves fans turned to us and said He definitely was with US that day."
Mrs Taylor said the Wanderers went on to beat Blackburn Rovers in the semi-final and to beat Manchester United in the final. Mrs Taylor, a widow from Walkden, has been a regular supporter at Burnden Park, along with her son and granddaughter.
She is looking forward to having a season ticket for the new Reebok Stadium to watch the Wanderers in the Premiership.
