LEIGH RMI travel to Workington tomorrow in the knowledge that a win could clinch promotion to the Unibond Premiership.
That scenario would only apply if leaders Radcliffe win at Lincoln but RMI know they need two wins out of their last three games, at home to Radcliffe Boro on Tuesday and Gretna next Saturday.
"We are in a strong position and looking forward to the final stages, our destiny is still in our own hands," said manager Steve Waywell.
"We need big occasion players right now but if any player can't respond to our present situation then they never will."
Waywell received criticism from some quarters for bringing back Lee Anderson from Doncaster for the midweek draw at Great Harwood and the full back could again be in the frame for the long journey to Cumbria.
Winger Martin James will definitely return after being on the bench on Tuesday but Waywell will give skipper Mark Schofield a late fitness test.
The big defender injured his shoulder at Great Harwood and although X-rays revealed no break he his still having a reaction.
If Schofield makes it, which is likely, he will continue in midfield and with James's return, Steve Shaughnessy could be the one to drop down to the bench with Keith Evans rejoining Chris Shaw up front.
"It's a tried and tested partnership that has brought us almost 50 goals this season so it is hardly a risk," added Waywell.
Radcliffe face a daunting trip to a third-placed Lincoln United as they bid to strengthen their Division One Championship bid.
Lincoln must win their two remaining games to retain any slight hope of a sniff of the title.
Of the four clubs still in the hunt, Lincoln look worst placed, four points adrift of leaders Boro and one off Leigh having played one game more.
Only a hundred per cent return and other teams slipping up could spark a Lincoln success.
Radcliffe hold poll position and will be desperate to ensure that is still the case going into Tuesday night's meeting with Leigh.
The fourth in the quartet, Farsley Celtic, must win all their four remaining games starting tomorrow at Warrington to retain any outside chance of victory.
Boro's only absentee is striker Colin McRory who Is getting married. Highly-rated defender Jason Ashley returns from a troublesome ankle injury.
