EVERY member of the Wanderers squad who has contributed to the Championship success can expect to receive a share of the honours.
Players qualifying for medals must have appeared in 25 per cent of games, which Colin Todd is urging the Football League to interpret as 11.
Only four members of the 21-strong Burnden squad are on the border-line. Bryan Small and Scott Taylor have made 11 appearances, keeper Gavin Ward has made 10 and striker Mixu Paatelainen has figured in nine games.
But, even if the League insist on 12 appearances as the qualifying standard, they could still get their medals.
A League spokesman confirmed: "If clubs want to apply for further medals for players who have made a significant contribution, we would take such requests into consideration."
Small and Taylor can still reach the 12 mark while Ward and Paatelainen have strong cases.
The keeper has figured in seven wins and one draw in his 10 league appearances while the Finnish striker, injured for much of the season, has made a successful comeback, scoring twice in six wins and three draws, including one of the goals that helped clinch the title at Manchester City.
Todd believes all his players deserve medals. "The entire squad has been part of ours success and they should all share in the honours."
Football League President Gordon McKeag will present Wanderers with the 108-year-old League Championship trophy after tonight's game. Todd believes all his players deserve medals. "The entire squad has been part of ours success and they should all share in the honours."
