SIR: I refer to the proposed restaurant in the former health clinic at Bromley Cross.
The proposal to give permission for a restaurant on these particular premises seems the height of folly in view of the other alternatives for this building.
The building in question is practically an adjunct to Turton High School which is badly in need of extra accommodation. From the reports, the school is full to capacity and is unable to take many pupils from the locality, and without doubt the demand for places will increase when you consider the number of houses recently erected and those planned for the area.
I hope the members of the Council can be trusted to see that in this instance common sense and foresight prevails.
