SIR: It is some 47 years since I was last at Burnden Park, but I was a regular during the war years and also in the immediate post war era.
My schoolboy hero was Nat Lofthouse, and I remember such players as Stan Hanson, Harry Hubbick, Tommy Woodward, Malcolm Barrass and Willie Moir.
I have enjoyed such happy days and suffered one sad one. In 1946 at the famous old ground, and while wishing the club every success in their new surroundings, the names of Bolton Wanderers and Burnden Park will always be synonymous as far as I am concerned.
