SIR: In no particular order, here are some of the things that will stay in my mind forever: the wonderful party atmosphere, the flags, balloons, face paint and fancy dress, the applause for Charlton's cracking goal, the embankment overflowing with Wanderers' fans, Lofty doing a "Phil Brown" - running at the Burnden terrace then leaping up and punching the air, the two streakers, the lump in my throat when the championship trophy was finally lifted, being able to hear "Auld Lang Syne" while I was waiting at the bus stop up the road, John McGinlay handing an empty champagne bottle to a fan. Leaving the ground for the very last time. A unique, magical night.
