SIR: As season ticket holders at Burnden Park we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff for the pleasure my family and I have had during what must be one of the finest seasons ever.

Having the pleasure of meeting several of the staff and players during the last couple of years socially, including post match last Friday, I would wish to state that everyone from Nat Lofthouse, Colin Todd and players have always been perfect gentlemen and a credit to the town.

One little thing has constantly annoyed me during the season. Next to our seats on Manchester Road Stand, were two empty seats all season. On enquiring at the ticket office once to purchase them for friends for one match, I was informed that a deposit had been placed on the said seats last year, and they were unable to sell them in case the relevant persons claimed them.

These seats were empty on Friday night.

Surely once the deposit has been used up in match ticket costs they could have been re-issued. People through letters to your paper were desperate to be there on Friday and to see two empty seats was sad.

On a lighter note, I obtained odds of 12 to one last year on Bolton going up and now my daughter's season ticket is paid for next year. Thanks lads.
