BOLTON poet Christine Ormrod has won a commendation for outstanding achievement after her work was published in an anthology compiled by the International Library of Poetry.
Christine, of Deane Church Lane, won the Editor's Choice Award, for her poem - Recollections - on the subject of an old man remembering his life.
The poem was published in a treasury of contemporary poetry called Jewels of the Imagination compiled by the Library.
Christine has been writing poetry on and off for 20 years and she describes her favourite subjects as "anything under the sun".
Previous work includes: And Santa Clause Came, published in A Winter Celebration; And God Created Woman, published in And God Created Woman; The Syptoms, published in North West Voices; and the Thin Line published in Broken Resolutions.
Her latest work has also been put on tape and distributed to libraries throughout Europe.
