CHORLEY-born Labour stalwart Doug Hoyle has been rewarded for his services to politics with a peerage.
Doug, 67, was one of a number of retiring MPs named as a life peer in a list agreed between the leaders of the three major parties.
Born in Coppull, and now living in Anderton, Doug was MP for Nelson and Colne from 1974-79 before being elected to Warrington in 1981 and holding the seat ever since.
Doug's son Lindsay is hoping to follow in his father's footsteps if elected in the Chorley constituency next week.
