HORRIFIED Clive Taylor watched as tearaway teenagers stole his car - but the forgiving dad has put up a reward to "save" the school children's lives!

The 41-year-old fears the joyriding youngsters, thought to be as young as 13, are still driving his white Fiat Uno and he says they are "putting a gun to their own heads".

And concerned Clive, a HGV driver, is offering a reward for any information on the stolen vehicle, registration number L903 ENE, in an attempt to stop the thieves from "killing themselves".

Clive's car was stolen from outside a house on Ashness Drive, Breightmet.

Clive, of Southmoor Walk, Daubhill, explained: "I had called at a friend's house and my car keys must have fallen on the floor on the street outside.

"I was just inside the house having a chat when I looked out of the window and saw two youths in my car. The next minute they started the engine and drove away very erratically.

"They were laughing at me as I gave chase with my mobile phone in my hand dialling the police!

"My main concern is not getting the car back, but how long these children have got the car in their hands. They are only babies. They will end up killing themselves."

Father-of-three Mr Taylor, who has dropped leaflets across the town in a bid to trace his car, said his concerns for their safety rose after reading about this week's horror smash.

As reported in the BEN, three youths were killed on the exit road of the M66, near Bury on Wednesday after the stolen car they were driving smashed into a lamp post.

Mr Taylor believes the two youths, one wearing a base-ball cap and another with a skinhead-type hair cut, were wearing school uniform which could have been from the nearby Withins School.

"They could be driving this car and parking it up and no-one is any the wiser.

"The police have been very helpful. But there is not much that they can do, although I think they were making inquiries at a number of schools.

"These kids could have bragged about what they have done to their friends - somebody must know.

"I don't want the children prosecuted. I just want them to stop driving the car before they kill themselves."

Anyone who can provide information leading to the return of the Fiat Uno stand to pick up a £100 cash reward and should call Clive or his work colleagues Terry or Keith on Bolton 386201.
