SIR: Last Friday my son and his friend went along to Burnden Park, despite not having any match tickets, full of pride, hope and expectations. They were not disappointed.
On arrival and frantically trying to buy legitimate concessionary tickets (to no avail) despair started to creep in. But the ticket office "miraculously" found two tickets. My son and his friend were trying to pool their money, only to find that they were a couple of pounds short. A "guardian angel" stepped in (a lady) who we do not know, and offered my son the money. Then it was found the tickets were adult tickets. (Deep depression set in at this point). The "guardian angel" again came to the rescue and altogether gave my son and friend £7-8 to buy tickets thus ensuring that they too have wonderful memories of a night they will never forget.
My son, his friend and myself would like to say a very big "Thank you" to this lady and for her to know that last Friday their dreams and expectations were fulfilled.
A very grateful parent.
