SIR: The year 2000 marks the 50th anniversary of the start of the Korean War, when many special commemorative events will take place both here and in Korea. In the run-up to this occasion the BKVA is under-taking a national survey of British veterans of the Korean War.
Anyone who served in the Korean War 1950-53, or in the subsequent Peacekeeping Force, or who is a widow of someone who served in the conflict, is invited to declare their interest by writing to me.
Sam Mercer MBE, BKVA National Vice-Chairman, 99 Heybridge Avenue, Streatham Common, London, SWI6 3DS.
Colonel (Retd) G M Gadd
