SIR: When you sort out your summer wardrobe, you may find you have items you will never wear again. Don't throw them away. Bring them to the Save The Children shop at I2I Deansgate, we will turn them into cash to help the children all over the world who are suffering as a result of war, famine, poverty or discrimination.
It is not just unwanted clothes we are asking for, we need bedding, household goods and bric a brac. In fact anything that can be turned into cash.
Out of every pound we raise, 89p goes directly to help our work in over 50 projects in the U.K alone, as well as to 50 countries all over the World.
As the average age of the ladies who work in the shop is 70, we are sorry we have no pick up service.
A big thank you to all our customers who support us all the year round, and to aII the ladies who give their time to work in the shop, all on a voluntary basis.
There are such a lot of charity shops in Bolton now, and I do understand that everyone has their favourite one. But, when we see the news reports from all the war torn countries all over the world, it is the children who tug at our heart strings, especially those who are maimed or have lost or have become separated from their families.
The people of Bolton are very generous in times of crisis, believe me this is a crisis.
