A JACK Russell dog was rescued from a smoke filled kitchen after its owner left food cooking on a stove.
Firefighters from Bolton North and Bolton Central fire stations attended the blaze at a house on Ripley Street, Tonge Moor, yesterday, after a neighbour raised the alarm.
Firefighters had to break into the house as the owner had just gone out. Fireman Malcolm Jones, a trained trauma technician from Bolton North, managed to rescue the dog from the smoke logged kitchen. The dog was not injured.
