FORMER Bolton West MP, Tom Sackville will have to reapply to Tory Central Office if he wants to fight the next election.
The Conservative Party has scrapped its existing list of approved candidates and intends to draw up a new one.
Mr Sackville and fellow election losers, Robert Wilson (Bolton North East), Paul Carter (Bolton South East), Alistair Burt (Bury North) and David Sumberg (Bury South) will all have to pass tough new selection procedures to become candidates at the next election. They have been invited to reapply and new procedures announced today aim at getting a wider selection of candidates from all classes, sexes and races to fight the Tory corner in 2002.
