SIR: Why on earth does the country need a 'Minister for Women'. Women already have the best of it. Better looking, longer life span, joy of bearing a child, legislation to prevent man, even if he dare, placing an advertisement for a bricklayer labourer 'for men only'.
We have a new woman MP for Bolton. Gets into parliament at the same time as bearing a child, and immediately wants a creche and indeed permission to take her child into the Chamber of the House. The next thing these 'new' Labour MPs will require is provision of a paid 'nanny' to add to her 'Conservative like income'.
The Minister for Women - Harriet Harman. 'I don't believe it'.
