BOLTON Tories are having their own facelift ahead of the party's predicted national revamp.

Local Conservative Party workers will leave their town centre offices on Princess Street this week.

And Bolton West Conservative Association have set up their new headquarters in . . . a former beauty parlour on New Hall Lane, Heaton!

Agent James Stevens quipped: "The Conservative Party is currently undergoing something of a political make-over so where better to move than a former beauty salon."

Mr Stevens was also putting on a brave face in the the wake of a Times survey branding Bolton West as one of the worse hit areas in the country in terms of declining Tory membership.

He said the new offices would provide local Tories with a fresh start and added: "I think the General Election result has actually given us a bit of a fillip because people want to help the fight back.

"At the moment we are in a state of limbo but once we get a new leader and Shadow Cabinet in place things will start pulling together rapidly."

Conservatives in Bolton North East will also be pulling out of the town centre building - once a regular target for poll tax protesters - and moving to offices at Dunscar Conservative Club.

Solicitors Russell and Russell are expected to take over the premises.
