ROMANCE is not dead - it's alive and well and painted on Jill Leonard's garage door!
The words "I utterly adore my wife" in bold white letters across the black garage are the work of love-struck hubby Marcus, who wanted to spell out his feelings for his wife for all the world to see.
Marcus, of Down Green Road, Harwood, explained: "The neighbours overheard us arguing and I felt really bad about it.
"I didn't want them to think that I don't appreciate Jill, so I thought I'd spell out exactly what I thought of her."
"I wanted her to see it when she went to drop the kids off school. If it's painted on the garage door then there's no denying it."
But it didn't take long for Jill to learn about the message. It was brought to her attention after a group of giggling friends told her to step outside.
She said: "I couldn't believe it at first. It was a bit embarrassing, but I rang him up at work to say thank you."
And the bold sign has caused something of a stir in Harwood.
"People have stopped in the street to have a look at it," said Jill.
"I feel the same way about Marcus - but I wouldn't write it across the garage door."
