SIR: Fifteen months ago you were kind enough to print a letter outlining our Society formation and its aims. Many of your readers responded and in total we now have 250 members, including 20 Battle of Britain pilots. We are also beholden to many famous celebrities who have put their weight behind our endeavours. Among these are: Bobby Charlton, Henry Cooper, Peter Alliss, Mike Gatting, Barry Norman, Michael Crawford, Willie Carson, Frank Muir, Sandy Gall, Clive Anderson, Melvyn Bragg, Sir James Goldsmith, etc, etc.

However, we still require many more members to 'adopt' forgotten Battle of Britain airmen who lie unvisited in cemeteries throughout the country. Our members have discovered vandalised gravestones, a pilot buried without any marker at all and a large number of plots virtually unrecognisable as graves.

If any more of your readers would like to become involved or make donations could they please contact me at the address below.
