MEMBERS of the Breightmet Credit Union are this month celebrating the club's first birthday.
In the first year of membership, 118 people have joined the community bank, with 46 people applying for loans.
Savings have grown to £5,350, and the word from the board of directors is: "We are doing well."
Anyone, aged 16 plus, who lives in Breightmet is eligible to join the Credit Union, which provides a local savings and low interest loans service to its members.
It is based at the Residents' Centre, 33 New Lane, Breightmet, and opening hours are 10.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays and 7pm to 8pm on Thursdays.
