Geoff Hickman, the company's safety representative, said that the system will allow operatives to climb floodlight platforms in complete safety.
Operators are secured to a stainless steel cable by a special coupler passing through intermediate cable supports, without needing to be unhitched or refastened. Once the user clips the harness to the coupler they can move with ease and it allows both hands to be free for working or carrying.
It will take three days to install the system which is being carried out in conjunction with Watson Steel, a company which Unistrut have worked with on other major projects, including "Big Drop" theme park rides which have been installed throughout the world.
The company has a network of branches nationwide offering systems and solutions to eliminate the risk of falling when people are working in high or hazardous conditions.
