YOUNGSTERS are being urged to take advantage of a cycle marking session being held in Horwich on Saturday, July 5.

The session has been organised by Horwich Town Council's Homewatch Liaison Officer, Bernard Abram, and will take place at the town's resource centre from 9am until 3pm.

People wishing to take advantage of the scheme can either have their bicycles stamped with their name and postcode, free of charge, or for a fee of £3 can have a unique number imprinted on the machine, which is then registered on a national data base. This enables the bicycle to be easily traced from anywhere in the country.

Similar sessions held in the past have been a great success and it is hoped that as many people as possible will go along to have their cycles stamped.
