BOLTON Little Theatre present a promenade production of Lark Rise by Keith Dewhurst, in and around Smithills Hall from next Monday to Friday and on Sunday, June 29, as part of their Summer Festival.
Based on Flora Thompson's famous book Lark Rise to Candleford, the play captures the rural life of middle England at the turn of the century.
Kate Campbell has devised the production, which will move from the courtyard at Smithills, in and out of the Hall, and into the gardens and woods led by local musicians on acoustic instruments. If the weather is bad, the production will take place in the Hall.
Kate directs a large cast which includes young actors George Critchley (10), Zoe France, Stuart Khochar and Sophie Millar, all 15.
The musicians are led by Francis Roe. Telephone enquiries to 01204 842252.
As part of the revival of the tradition of a strong musical input for BLT's Festival, Jambiya Sound Ideas present a musical entertainment with a strawberry and wine supper on Saturday, June 28.
