By Michele Bowker CONFEDERATES and Yankees joined forces for the wedding of country music fans Margaret Crook and Roy Kerr.
The couple, both members of the Bolton Dixy Raiders Country and Western Club, tied the knot at the new Mere Hall register office's first theme wedding.
Dressed in their Confederate finery the pair, of Church Avenue, Bolton, were joined by fellow American Civil War enthusiasts for their big day.
And giving Margaret away was General Robert E Lee - alias the couple's friend Neville Wanting.
The newly weds, who have known each other for many years, were treated to a guard of honour complete with swords by their role playing guests.
They then went on to Bradford Ward Labour Club, home of the Dixy Raiders, for their wedding breakfast.
Roy said: "It was a great day. We had guests from all over and they helped make it extra special."
