THE wedding of Bolton's Bride of the Year '97 Jayne Locke certainly proved a BLISS-ful affair!
For her beautiful gown, the bridemaids' outfits, the morning suits and even the transport came from Churchgate bridal firm BLISS, as part of Jayne's fabulous prize in the competition principally sponsored by them and promoted by the Bolton Evening News.
Jayne, aged 22, from Burghley Close, Radcliffe, won her title and a host of super prizes last year in a glittering final at the Albert Halls.
BEN readers voted for six finalists, with prizes valued at £3,700 at stake. Other sponsors for the competition were the Albert Halls, Apollo Theatres, C & A, Beaumont Hotel, David Smith Studio, Design by Lisa, Diddy Box floral designers, Jarvis Georgian House Hotel, Greenhalgh's Craft Bakery, Iceland, J R Taylor at Whitehead's, O'Leary's at the Pack Horse Hotel, Preston's Jewellers, St Andrew's Travel, Slattery's Patissier and Chocolatier, and Whitakers.
But it was no doubt boyfriend Stephen Whitehead who felt he had won the best prize of all when Jayne became his wife at St Anne's Church, Turton at a wedding he would certainly have labelled "Match of the Day."
