LANCASHIRE were today trying to stop their Championship rot against Glamorgan at Liverpool without injured skipper Mike Watkinson.
Watkinson was ruled out after suffering get another recurrence of his arm problem against Kent last week and admitted: "I'm going to have to take a rest for as long as it takes. There is no point messing about now. I've got to get it right."
Watkinson has already missed three Championship games in his worst ever start to a season for injuries, and his absence meant a recall for Gary Keedy and Gary Yates.
Meanwhile the second team bad a good win against Derbyshire at Wigan yesterday with Littleborough leg-spinner Chris Schofield continuing his rapid progress by taking 5-20.
Lancashire cruised past a victory target of 128 with 23 of their 50 overs to spare, Richard Green hitting 44 not out and Mark Harvey an unbeaten 40.
They were also starting a Championship match today, against Northants at Middleton.
