A visitor from the Land of the Rising Sun has brought Japan to life for Bolton School pupils.
Junko Hayashi has spent two terms at the girls' school teaching pupils about Japanese culture and language.
In return Junko, who comes from the rural Fukuoka prefecture on the south island of Japan, has been learning all about Bolton.
During her visit Junko has given Year Nine geography pupils first hand information for their study of Japan and Junior and Middle School pupils have enjoyed a lunchtime club where they have learned how to count and say greetings in Japanese.
Some Sixth Form pupils have also been studying the language and how to behave politely in Japanese society.
The pupils will soon be saying "Ogenki de" (take care) to Junko when she returns to Japan and "Konnichiwa" (hello) to the next Japanese teacher who arrives in October.
