SIR: There has recently been some comments in the local press about the litter problems in Little Lever. A comment from the local council stated that they could not afford metal bins for Little Lever. I suggest they realise the amount of people who pay community tax in the area. Would they treat the people in the better areas like Lostock and Bromley Cross the same way? And they always seem to find time to clean up after the gypsies who invade Little Lever at, I am sure, a much greater cost than a few metal bins.
Little Lever is like a forgotten place in Bolton, but they never forget to send the community tax bills.
I agree people should be more responsible with litter, but this is a very naive attitude, given the world we live in.
